Some years ago I had the blessing of the different sets of nursing newborn kittens. The work was hard, but I had help. Besides the obvious sources of aid, children love and care bottles, my labrador is invaluable during this time.
The first set I was presented with had just opened their eyes and had for several hours without their mother. I opened the box and now they have started their signature high towers, meowing frantically. My lab has looked at, analyzed the situation and sniffed and licked a few heads. His warmth and attention it draws to it immediately.
