Labs and Baby Kittens

Some years ago I had the blessing of the different sets of nursing newborn kittens. The work was hard, but I had help. Besides the obvious sources of aid, children love and care bottles, my labrador is invaluable during this time.

The first set I was presented with had just opened their eyes and had for several hours without their mother. I opened the box and now they have started their signature high towers, meowing frantically. My lab has looked at, analyzed the situation and sniffed and licked a few heads. His warmth and attention it draws to it immediately.

So, having provided all the empty stomachs, I asked Lovely capture. I sat the baby and she snuggles next to him now for him. He laid there for a very long time, sometimes sniffing and licking and nestled lot.

The second series was my way was even younger. When the box came in newborns, Beau knew the routine. He wagged his tail and waiting to see inside. It examined, sniffed and licked and waited his turn with the kittens.

These babies are not ready for the cat. That’s where Beau was a tremendous help. I tried to encourage them to go with a warm, damp washcloth. I have not been as successful as I was. Beau looked at me and seemed to understand. I’d try and was very successful. We had the water that runs for weeks before they were ready to go on a stretcher. They probably would not have done without his help.

Beau kept pace with the baby, cleaned, kept warm and guarded. Her gentle nature Labrador Retriever was invaluable when I tried to save a few lives. Never once did I fear leaving him alone with them. He has never shown any aggression or jealousy or gross behavior. What she did was the preparation of young kittens to homes with dogs. She saw him as a threat.

As she grew and I started looking for a good home, they gave no peace Beautiful. They would get a run and jump on him. They would always jump on him when he tried to stab the room, ran under his feet, chased his tail, eating his meal, bit his ears, and hanging from his neck. It has always been patient and loving.

Beau and I were able to raise these little gifts from birth to young kittens ready for homes. This is a moment I will never forget and will always be grateful to Beau for his part.
